How It Works

Four steps take a photo or video from your phone to a result anyone can check.

  1. Step 1

    Capture in the App

    Take photos or record video with CaseCollect's own camera. You can't import files from your library, so everything it certifies was captured in the app. It works without a connection, too.

  2. Step 2

    Register the Proof, Not the File

    When your phone is online, the app gets a signed receipt from Courtready. The receipt records when your capture was registered. The photo or video itself never leaves your phone.

  3. Step 3

    Share It Your Way

    Export the file with its certificate and a PDF summary, and send it however you like. The proof can still be recovered if the file is later resized, recompressed or stripped of its details.

  4. Step 4

    Check Any Copy in a Browser

    Anyone with a copy can check it on the verification page. CaseCollect compares it with the certified capture and, where it can, marks the areas that changed.

We never hold your photos or videos. To register a capture, the app sends a signed record of it, and your files stay encrypted on your phone. You don't have to trust us to vouch for a file: anyone with a copy can check it themselves, and the comparison can run in their own browser.

Every check gives one of four answers, so it's clear what you're looking at.

An Exact Match

The copy is the same file that was certified, down to the last detail.

Re-encoded

Same Picture, New File

The content matches, but the file was saved again, for example when a messaging app compressed it.

Modified

Something Changed

The copy comes from a certified capture, but parts of it differ. Where possible, the changed areas are highlighted.

Uncertified

No Record Found

CaseCollect can't link the copy to anything captured in the app.

Where It Helps

Any time a photo or video might later be questioned, capture it in CaseCollect.

Renting a Home

Record a unit's condition at move-in and move-out, or a repair that never got done. If the other side says your photos were edited, they can check for themselves.
